R.V. Baugus was married to Tanya Renee Baugus for 24 years, 8 months, and 18 days before she went to be with the Lord.
R.V. was born in Dallas, Tanya in Irving. Both shared a love for the Dallas/Fort Worth area but Tanya was always a country girl at heart after spending her junior high and high school years in Hawkins, Texas.
R.V. does his best to stay busy and honor Tanya and her legacy. He is the senior editor for Facility Manager magazine with the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) and the high school contributing editor for Dave Campbell’s Texas Basketball magazine. He can be heard on Friday nights in the fall as the public address announcer at Irving Independent School District’s Joy & Ralph Ellis Stadium calling football games.
R.V. volunteers his time as a board member of the Irving Schools Foundation, serving as a deacon at Oak View Baptist Church, and as a lay leader for Coaches Outreach Bible studies during the school year.
Thanks to attending Christian-based Grief Share classes, R.V. continues to work through his journey and piecing life back together after a sudden and tragic loss. May his life continue to be one that pleases God and Tanya from above.
R.V. is the PROUD parent of poodles Trudy and Tia, who were also Tanya’s special angels that she loved so dearly.
